The wait is almost over!!!!

It has been 2 very long weeks of waiting since I finalized the purchase of my S2000. I have yet to even sit in the drivers seat. I am flying out to Wisconsin, from Denver, tomorrow and Saturday morning I will do a three day road trip from Milwaukee to St. Louis through KC (For Arthur Bryants BBQ) and on to Denver. I am thoroughly excited to get to know the S2k over that thousand some odd miles.

Fun Fact!

Buying this car was the best Craigslist experience I ever had. The seller was very honest and when my parents went to test drive the car for me as my representation the seller was absolutely awesome with them, going as far as giving my mom and dad each an opportunity to ride with him in his Lotus Exige. They were both so excited for that chance as they had never been in a car anything like that.

Is it this color? If so that is AWESOME. Every day on the train I pass a street parked S2000 in this color and I always stare at it, it looks so damn good it’s no wonder Honda can’t pull their heads out of their asses and design something worth driving again. They made a one hit wonder.

Its actually that car.. the one in the picture is mine. a 2004 ap2 with mugen replica hard top and 80k miles. I am half chubbed just typing that! sorry for the overshare.

Ditch the crappy Mugen (?) top and get an OEM one; then ditch the HPS in favor of stock or any pad by Performance Friction... BOOM! perfect

You’ll be out in my neck of the woods! If I wasn’t going to be at the Renaissance Faire on Saturday I’d say we should grab a bite. I could’ve shown you the best cheese curds ever. (Stop at the Iron Horse Hotel in Milwaukee for them if you get a chance!)

I much prefer the Mugen replica over the OEM (Which are insanely expensive at this point as well). Not to mention i wouldnt go through all of the trouble to paint match a hard top for a car that I already have a paint matched hard top for. And I was never a fan of yellow until I saw this one.

ugh I know! that was one of my requirements when buying this car. it NEEDED to have a hardtop. Just didnt expected to find one that was paint matched professionally.

haha I had a friend who used to work there. I grew up in wisconsin and lived in milwaukee for 10 years (ish). I only moved from wisconsin to denver about a year and a half ago. Love IH cheese curds always stopped there before Conajitos across the street for their Mole Chicken

Denver is amazing I will not deny that... But the Milwaukee/Chicago area will always be home and has no lack of awesome things to do... especially if you are like me and love live music.... The only place in the country I really had to move coming from the milwaukee chicago area that would have as much live music is denver...so the choice was easy..

Awesome! Thanks man :). Out of curiosity do you drive yours in winter (if you even face snow) I read so many people that say its a terrible idea and a “deathtrap” but there is a group of die hards I’ve found online that LOVE it in the snow with a good set of winters. What’s your take? I’m in Denver where they don’t salt or sand the roads so rust is no more of a concern to me than a rainy day.

I haven’t driven in the snow, but have in torrential rain and you just have to be real easy on the throttle. I do plan on getting a set of Blizzaks for the winter (195/60R16 - 215/55R16). Your S2000 is an AP2 so I would look for winter tires in 17” (205/50R17 - 235/45R17). Also, congrats on getting one with a hardtop. I’ve been debating whether or not to buy an oem replica from Forbidden USA.

The hardtop on mine is a forbidden USA mugen replica. I’ll let you know my feelings about it as I have also driven one with the replica OEM by forbidden which rattled a bit but not too horribly...but that s2k was beat to shit

Made the road trip back with zero problems. Really a veryvcomfy car long distance. I plan to make a post just haven’t had time yet. I’ll get pics up after the weekend I am hoping to hit some mountain roads and get some shots of the car in all its yellow glory Lol!
